Proof Disney May Give Us An LGBTQ Princess Sooner Than We Think
There are so many reasons to love the princesses that Disney has given us over the years. They taught us lessons on independence, bravery, and following your heart. What Disney has stayed away from though, is LGBTQ representation in their movies. The good news is, times are changing. People are much more willing and supportive about seeing a Prince or Princess in a same sex relationship now than they would have been decades ago. Even better news? It could happen sooner than we think!
#GiveElsaAGirlfriend has been trending for quite a while now. Many people wanted to see Elsa’s character in the Frozen sequel in a same-sex relationship.

Idina Menzel was asked about it, and while she admitted that she was all for Elsa being a lesbian, she had no idea what Disney was going to do, leaving us all in the dark.

After waiting for more news on the first potential LGBTQ prince or princess, we finally have some glimmer of hope that it’s going to happen.

Ron Clements and John Musker, the directors of the newest Disney film, Moana, have been praised for making their character, Moana, have a “regular” body type, and no male love interest. Hooray for progressive movies!
