15 Facts About Hollywood"s Most Underrated Actor, Steve Buscemi

Steve Buscemi is a modern Hollywood chameleon. His roles have ranged from hilarious to terrifying in his work with directors like Quentin Tarantino and the Coen brothers and TV shows like Boardwalk Empire. Even though Steve has one of the most recognizable voices and faces on the big screen, it’s safe to say that no two of his characters are alike. Besides wowing us with his work in film and television, Steve has also led a very interesting life outside of Hollywood. I think there are few stars out there who have lived through what he has.

SHARE these facts with any Steve Buscemi fans in your life!

1. Steve was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 13, 1957.

He was actually born on Friday the 13th. I think in this case it was good luck.

2. In high school, Steve was on the wrestling team and participated in the drama club.

It’s probably where he got his first taste of the acting bug.

3. After graduating high school, Steve joined the FDNY and served as a firefighter for four years.

His fellow firefighters thought he was crazy when he left the job to pursue acting.

4. It wouldn’t be the last time Steve served with the FDNY, though.

Following the attacks on 9/11, Steve returned to volunteer with the FDNY to look for survivors in the rubble.

I had no idea that Steve was a firefighter before he became an actor. Keep reading to find out about his early film career.
