Lots of people think they are in love but really they’re just feeling lust. Love can grow from there, but it’s something that takes time. The big differences between love and lust are how secure you feel in your relationship, if there are conditions, how long you’ll be together, and what you find attractive or what you “love” about them. If you’re wondering if you’re really in love or just having a fling, here are a few signs to help clear up any confusion.

1. Time


If two people are in love, their relationship is much more likely to last while people lusting for each other will have a short-lived experience. 




2. Attraction


When you love someone, everything about them is beautiful, but when you lust for them, only their best physical features catch your attention.











3. Security


There is security in a relationship built around love, but one that comes from lust doesn’t have a solid foundation.




4. Friendship


A couple who is in love are often able to say they are also best friends. Two people who lust for each other are just after each other for physical reasons.

Adele’s new song “Hello” is perfect listening for anyone who wants to unnecessarily relive the emotional trauma of having your heart shattered into a billion pieces. The song is about the failures of reconnecting with a loved one after painful years apart. If you can get through the song without having a crippling, tear-soaked breakdown, then you likely have no heart. You also might find that the lyrics are uncannily similar to a drunken text you might send your ex. Mary Caldera noticed this similarity and decided to test it out on her ex-boyfriend, Matt. Poor Matt clearly didn’t get the reference. Naturally, Matt assumed Mary was just drunk texting him, and his deadpan and confused response is brilliant. If you think Mary was cruel for texting Matt and getting his hopes up, well, she didn’t stop there. She also posted the entire exchange on Twitter, much to our delight!
