7 Steps To Making The Ultimate Tinder Profile




Dating is difficult, we all know this. Sometimes I feel like it can be more difficult when you do it online on an app like Tinder because people are super quick and immediately judgmental. It’s okay to admit it, as long as we all do. So, how are you supposed to put your best foot forward when you don’t even get to meet the person? 


We have our profiles, of course, but maybe when we set them up how we think is best, it isn’t objectively the best — or rather the best way to find a match. There is a science to attraction, after all. 


Turns out some pretty smart people have done some thinking about this, and these are their findings.

So, Tinder is hard. 


Or it can be. It can be super lame to swipe through of bunch of super cool people and not get any matches. Am I also not super cool? I refused to believe that that could be the case, so of course there has to be something else in the works. Recently, Bustle put out an article outlining Tinder sociologist Dr. Jess Carbino’s suggestions on how to make a profile noticeable. 




1. Have pictures with your pet. 


This seems pretty obvious to me because who doesn’t love pets? I once dated a guy for a year because his roommate had the cutest Great Dane. OK, that isn’t true, but if it was no one would blame me. Dr. Jess says that having a Tinder profile pic with a pet is a big win. “For some, photographs with dogs may signal that an individual is kind, compassionate, or capable of potentially caring for children in the future.”











2. Include travel pictures. 


“Animal and travel shots are strong signals of personality characteristics,” Dr. Jess claims. “Travel photos may be used to signal that they are curious about other places and the world generally, but also that they have the resources to travel and that they choose to spend their resources (time/money) in that manner.” I feel like this one makes a lot of sense. Think about it, how many interested parties have asked you if you like to travel?
