12 Celebs In America Who Are Immigrants

Are you ever fooled by British actors who put on amazing American accents? They’re so good at it that you think they were born and raised in the U.S.! There are a lot more celebs than you might realize who uprooted their lives from another country to find a better life in the States. Here are the stars who said goodbye to what they were familiar with to seek fame, fortune, and success in Hollywood.

1. Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold was born in Austria and moved to the U.S. in 1968 when he was only 21 years old. It was a brave decision for him because he spoke very little English. He went on to become a famous bodybuilder, an action star, and the Governor of California.

2. Mila Kunis

Mila was born in Ukraine and moved with her family to Los Angeles in 1991. Her husband, Ashton Kutcher, revealed that Mila came to the U.S. on a refugee visa. She has gone on to become a huge star in Hollywood. She was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in Black Swan.

3. Natalie Portman

Natalie was born in Jerusalem and moved with her parents to the U.S. when she was three years old. She now has dual American and Israeli citizenship. Natalie studied at Harvard, she’s won an Academy Award, and she continues to act in amazing movies.

Harvard? Whoa. Natalie is one smart lady!
