Blind Baby Rescue Goat Only Calms Down When Wearing Her Duck Costume

It almost sounds like a fake news story, but we promise you it’s not. The story of this one tiny goat in particular only seems too cute to be true! This adorable little baby goat’s name is Polly.

She is being cared for at Goats of Anarchy, a goat rescue group in New Jersey. Polly is blind and suffers from anxiety and other neurological issues. She often cries and runs around in a panic when the group’s owner Leanne Lauricella can’t be found.

At least she did — until the duck costume came along!

What started out as a simple Halloween costume and an opportunity for some cute photos has effectively changed Polly’s life. 

They quickly discovered that when Polly has the costume on, she instantly becomes calm and relaxed.

“She goes into a little trance,” Leanne said, “She just closes her eyes and she’s out.” Now, whenever the wee goat is hit with a bout of anxiety, out comes the costume.

It also comes in handy when there are errands to run and Polly can’t be left alone.

The costume goes on and sure enough — little Polly is as happy and docile as a sleeping baby.
