Woman Stabbed 32 Times By Ex-Boyfriend Finds Love With The EMT Who Saved Her




We never expect the ones closest to us to be the ones to betray and hurt us. They are supposed to be the ones who look out for us and hold us when we need comfort. Unfortunately, there are times when we are turning to someone else for comfort because of something a loved one has done. One woman had someone she cared about turn on her in a violent and terrifying way, leaving her hopeless and untrusting. That is, until an unexpected someone saved her in more than one way.

In 2012, Melissa Dohme broke up with her boyfriend, Robert Lee Burton Jr.


He asked her to meet so he could see her one last time.




When they met outside her home, he pulled out a knife and proceeded to stab her 32 times.


Two teenagers heard her screaming and called 911.











Melissa flatlined four times, was given 12 units of blood, and suffered a stroke that paralyzed her right side.


Doctors didn’t know if she would speak, smile, or walk ever again.




She wasn’t supposed to be alive, but Melissa fought.


After countless surgeries, she was well on her way to recovery and something else.
