A Couple Bought This Mansion For $1 And Turned It Into A $2.4 Million Estate

In 2006, George and Nancy Corbett purchased an abandoned home in Palmetto, Florida, for just one dollar — one dollar. As if buying a home for a dollar isn’t rare enough, they also had the home ferried along the water until it was planted in Ruskin, Florida. The home now sits in a secluded hideaway and overlooks a pristine 12,000-acre aquatic sanctuary with 20 miles of protected waterfront. George and Nancy spent $1.9 million to fix up this old historic home, and it took more than seven years to complete.

Take a look at this astounding transformation and watch the video at the end to see the full home tour.

Wow!

To get to this gorgeous estate, you need to cross an arched land bridge and then you travel down a winding palm- and oak-laden drive. There is a peaceful lagoon and a breathtaking waterfall. I would never leave!

This 220-ton home was ferried about 20 miles up the water

You don’t see something like this every day.

This dynamic couple has been restoring homes since they married in 1976.
