Open Communication Can Save A Relationship

Many issues that arise in any relationship, let alone romantic ones, are from a lack of or poor communication. When things aren’t talked about, our minds wander, jump to conclusions, make accusations, overthink, and ultimately we damage a relationship. Sometimes all it takes is reminding the other person that you love them or care about them to put worries to rest that were created by a lack of communication. It’s easier to keep conversation going than to start after a problem has already arisen.

1. Don’t let it go and you won’t have a problem.

“In a relationship, when communication starts to fade, everything else follows.”

2. You have to decide what kind of communication you want to have.

“Not responding is a response.”

3. The only way to understand someone is to talk to them.

“Assumption and lack of communication are the number one relationship killers. We all perceive differently. We’ve lived different lives, we have different views. Understand that before getting angry at someone for not believing what you believe.”

4. Even when there is communication often times it’s the wrong kind.

“Relationships are harder now because conversations become texting, arguments become phone calls, and feelings become status updates.”
