Ariana Grande is no stranger to the spotlight, becoming accustomed to it since she was a young girl. In 2008, Grande was cast in the supporting role of Charlotte in the musical 13 on Broadway. Soon after, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting and music. Her breakthrough role was in Nickelodeon’s Victorious, all the way back in 2009. The real question is: does anybody remember what Ariana Grande looked like prior to her explosive music career?

Adele’s new song “Hello” is perfect listening for anyone who wants to unnecessarily relive the emotional trauma of having your heart shattered into a billion pieces. The song is about the failures of reconnecting with a loved one after painful years apart. If you can get through the song without having a crippling, tear-soaked breakdown, then you likely have no heart. You also might find that the lyrics are uncannily similar to a drunken text you might send your ex. Mary Caldera noticed this similarity and decided to test it out on her ex-boyfriend, Matt. Poor Matt clearly didn’t get the reference. Naturally, Matt assumed Mary was just drunk texting him, and his deadpan and confused response is brilliant. If you think Mary was cruel for texting Matt and getting his hopes up, well, she didn’t stop there. She also posted the entire exchange on Twitter, much to our delight!
