Millions of people all over the world dream of becoming famous. In fact, I’d go as far as saying fame and fortune is probably the most common desire throughout the world. Some of these people spend their entire lives trying to reach the level of fame that celebs like Beyoncé and George Clooney have, and most of them fail. So when you consider all of these factors, it becomes quite clear just how slim the chances of becoming famous really are.


Here are some celebs who literally got famous by accident. 











1. Evangeline Lilly


The star of Lost was discovered while walking through her Canadian hometown and given a modelling contract. She was working as an air hostess for Air Canada at the time. 




2. Burt Reynolds


Burt never even considered being an actor. Growing up, he was the rough outdoorsy type, but after appearing in a play during junior high he was offered a scholarship at the Hyde Park Playhouse in New York.











3. Pamela Anderson


The sex symbol was actually working as a fitness instructor in Vancouver when she got her big break. She was recruited by a beer company to help promote their brand and gained major recognition when she was seen wearing a tight beer shirt at a CFL game. From there her modelling career took off, and the rest is history. 




4. Jason Statham


Statham was actually almost an Olympic diver but when things didn’t work out, he started a career as a salesman in the streets of London. One day he was spotted by an agent who set him up with an French Connection UK ad campaign. The rest is history.

Poor Matt clearly didn’t get the reference. Naturally, Matt assumed Mary was just drunk texting him, and his deadpan and confused response is brilliant.
