15 Awesome Facts About "The Lego Movie"

This movie brings me right back to playing with Lego in my basement. I’d come up with crazy story lines about princesses or medieval knights battling their way through desert islands. Ah, 2015 seems so long ago now. But when I get nostalgic for those little building blocks, I throw on this movie and it takes me right back! Here are some facts you may not have known about The Lego Movie!

1. The Lego Movie beat Ben Affleck to the punch – it’s the first film to feature Batman and Superman together!

It’s also Wonder Woman’s big screen debut as well. I don’t think it matters that they’re in Lego form.

2. For the Lego Batman Movie, Michael Cera, who played Will Arnett’s nephew in Arrested Development, will be playing Robin to Arnett’s Batman!

Is this casting magic, or is it an… illusion?

3. Vitruvius’ gnarled white staff is just a chewed up lollipop stick.

Ewwwwwww!

 4. Emmet has a poster in his apartment for a movie titled Macho And The Nerd. This is the Russian translation for 21 Jump Street, also a movie by Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

Can 23 Jump Street be called this in English, please!

Adele’s new song “Hello” is perfect listening for anyone who wants to unnecessarily relive the emotional trauma of having your heart shattered into a billion pieces. The song is about the failures of reconnecting with a loved one after painful years apart. If you can get through the song without having a crippling, tear-soaked breakdown, then you likely have no heart. You also might find that the lyrics are uncannily similar to a drunken text you might send your ex. Mary Caldera noticed this similarity and decided to test it out on her ex-boyfriend, Matt. Poor Matt clearly didn’t get the reference. Naturally, Matt assumed Mary was just drunk texting him, and his deadpan and confused response is brilliant. If you think Mary was cruel for texting Matt and getting his hopes up, well, she didn’t stop there. She also posted the entire exchange on Twitter, much to our delight!
