13 Tricksters Who Are Way Too Into Halloween

When Halloween rolls around, something special seems to hang in the air. It’s kind of hard to explain, but things that would seem gloomy or off-putting during the rest of the year become sources of childlike excitement around this magical time. Even for the fraidy-cats out there, this holiday unlocks a treasure trove of gleeful memories filled with candy and the chance to live out all your fantasies for one night.

With all this in mind, most of us get excited for Halloween, but some take their enthusiasm to some staggering heights and make the rest of us look like whatever the Halloween equivalent of a Scrooge is. For me, it was the house that always gave out comic books. Sure, that was the obvious reason to never skip that house when I trick-or-treated but the owner’s eyes just seemed to light up at the prospect of celebrating Halloween again.

Whether it’s in their house, their costume or just how they seem to change in October, these special few have definitely made Halloween their “thing.”

Today, we’re going to look into the minds of 13 of them and see what wonders we can find.

1. Believe it or not, that’s a costume.

A redditor made it from foam and drywall slits, and they have to hunch over to walk in it. The results are uncomfortable and so hot that they added an ice vest to the costume, but nobody else in the neighborhood is ever going to top it.If you’re having a hard time getting the reference, there apparently isn’t one beyond some influence from Mad Max and The Dark Crystal.

2. This is a level of dedication you usually only see from method actors.

Those are the photographer’s actual neighbors and it seems like they stayed in that web all day. One can only imagine what they’ve cooked up this year.

3. Yes, this guy worked a self-portrait into his costume.

The only way this could have been better was if the mask looked like Nicolas Cage.

4. It’s already pretty easy to sell people on the idea of coming to work as a dinosaur.

Yet it’s even easier when you learn that these people are all paleontologists. Since their job is to find dinosaur bones, it’s no surprise that they had so little trouble finding dinosaur costumes.

However, there’s one guy who beats them at making his workplace spooky by a mile.
