FYI Ladies, The Pill Is Definitely Linked To Depression

Well, ladies, for the millions of us who take birth control, we can breathe a little easier. There has finally been a study released that confirms there is a link between depression and the pill. While I know it may seem like old news because it’s something we are all too familiar with, it is important that the scientific community is finally talking about it.

And it’s about time! I remember when a friend of mind started taking the pill, she became both anxious and extremely depressed, but of course it didn’t seem to dawn on anyone that her birth control could be the cause. She isn’t the only one to be faced with that problem as it has been one for nearly as long as the pill has existed. This is a promising breakthrough and will hopefully spur some more much-needed research!

I am eager to hear your stories and your thoughts about this new research! Be sure to COMMENT and let me know!

In the U.S., 62% of women at a reproductive age use contraception.

The largest part of that statistic is the 11 million who take the birth control pill. Yeah, I know, that’s a lot.

That is why it was so shocking that in a recently released study…

…it was finally acknowledged that there is a link between the pill and depression.

In the study that was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) Psychiatry…

…researchers from the University of Copenhagen confirmed there is a link after completing a study of a million women between the ages of 15 and 34. The study happened over 13 years and is the largest of its kind. They found some pretty staggering results.
