12 Nursery Ideas Made Possible With Stencils

Having a new baby on the way is a big event! It’s exciting and gleeful and overflowing with joy. It’s also exhausting, expensive, and a whole lot of work to prepare for. Still, you want your baby boy or girl to have a nursery that’s both practical for you, and beautiful for the little munchkin. But peeking into one of the dozens of baby magazines can put a damper on any excitement about the new nursery. There are so many options, and each one is more expensive than the last.

So put on that DIY hat, because I’m here to show you how some stencils and paint can make your nursery look professionally decorated, with just a little work and an even smaller hit to your wallet.

1. Polkadots and unicorns, FTW.

Giant gold dots bring the glam to this nursery, but my favorite detail is the unicorn bust on the wall.

2. Go bold with color for smaller accents.

The small triangles may seem like a busy choice, but by choosing some lovely neutral colors and limiting it to just above the paneling, it’s the perfect accent.

3. Sweet and subtle.

I love the choice of a super-soft pink for the roses stenciled on the wall. It mimics the rug, but isn’t overwhelming.
