11 Perks And Pitfalls Of Being President Of The United States

On the surface, being President of the United States might seem like an easy gig to some people. For others, the thought of being responsible for the well-being of over 300 million Americans might induce a heart attack! Loads of jobs place you in stressful situations and force you to make tough decisions, so taking THAT out of the equation, you might wonder, “What are some of the true pros and cons of being the leader of the free world?” Read on to discover eight of the perks and pitfalls of being the U.S. president!

Would you ever take this job? What kind of president would you be? COMMENT and let us know!

1. PERK – So many sweet rides to choose from

From Air Force One, a souped-up Boeing 747 that can refuel mid-air and serve a five-star dinner to 100 guests, to a $1.5 million Cadillac limousine that’s bulletproof and is always accompanied by a personal mechanic, being President certainly lets you ride in style.

2. PERK – Having a huge staff at your disposal

Personal trainer, world-class chefs, doctors and medical staff mere steps away — they certainly make it easy to be healthy when you’re the leader of the free world. Not to mention a White House full of servants catering to your every whim.

3. PITFALL – Presidents can’t eat anything unless it’s tasted first

While the Secret Service has never confirmed the fact, it’s widely known that the president has one or more “tasters” to prevent any food tampering. This might seem like a perk, but if the president is ever out and about and feeling peckish without a taster in tow, they can do little more than stare longingly at the food everyone else is eating.

4. PERK – Guests of the President get to stay at the luxurious Blair House

Forget the spare bedroom treatment – foreign leaders and chiefs of state get to stay in what’s known as the President’s Guest House when visiting. Aside from stunning guestrooms, Blair House features three formal dining rooms, a beauty salon, an exercise room, and two kitchens run by high-end chefs.
