15 Things You Didn"t Know About "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"

I’m ashamed to admit that I just saw The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo last year. But I know I’ll redeem myself in saying that it’s probably my favorite movie of all time. Between the mysterious, twisting plot, phenomenal casting, and eerie setting, this film totally set itself up for instant success. And although it’s definitely not for the faint of heart, it’s one of those movies that you just cannot get out of your head when you’ve finished watching it. The inside scoop on this incredible film totally shocked me so keep on reading to learn 15 things you definitely never knew about The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

1. The film’s release date was December 20th, which is the date the novel begins on.

2. Rooney Mara was up against some pretty famous faces for her leading role as Lisbeth Salander.

Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, and Jennifer Lawrence were all considered for the role!

3. For his leading role as Mikael Blomqvist, Daniel Craig was required to pack on some pounds!

It was important that he resembled a journalist and not his iconic James Bond character.

4. There’s one scene in which Lisbeth visits Plague and he’s wearing a black t-shirt with a white logo on it…

The logo represents the band Nine Inch Nails. Trent Reznor, the founder of Nine Inch Nails, wrote the score for this film!

You’re drunk and your oven is broken… And you really want pizza… 3. So you deep fry your pizza Drunk you is so smart. 4. A beautiful work of art This person got drunk and turned into Leonardo da Vinci.

Adele’s new song “Hello” is perfect listening for anyone who wants to unnecessarily relive the emotional trauma of having your heart shattered into a billion pieces. The song is about the failures of reconnecting with a loved one after painful years apart. If you can get through the song without having a crippling, tear-soaked breakdown, then you likely have no heart. You also might find that the lyrics are uncannily similar to a drunken text you might send your ex. Mary Caldera noticed this similarity and decided to test it out on her ex-boyfriend, Matt. Poor Matt clearly didn’t get the reference. Naturally, Matt assumed Mary was just drunk texting him, and his deadpan and confused response is brilliant. If you think Mary was cruel for texting Matt and getting his hopes up, well, she didn’t stop there. She also posted the entire exchange on Twitter, much to our delight!
