You wouldn’t expect a movie with the plot line, “A girl makes a wish on her 13th birthday and wakes up the next day as a 30-year-old woman” to be any good at all. The thing is, that couldn’t be father from the truth. 13 Going on 30 is a classic that any person, young or old, can get into. Jenna Rink is one of those characters that you want to be BFFs with, plus there’s Mark Ruffalo, need I say more? Here are 15 behind-the-scenes facts about the movie that you probably had no idea about.

1. Jennifer Garner was excited to play Jenna Rink because of how fun and happy the character was. At the time she was filming for her show Alias where she had to be serious all the time.

Her co-workers told her she would be perfect for the role because she “acted like a 13-year-old in real life anyway”. 

2. Jennifer and Mark were originally going to play the teenage versions of themselves. It was something that was talked about for a while before they decided that it wouldn’t look good.

3. Christa B. Allen played a young Jenna. Jennifer Garner said that Christa looked exactly like she did when she was a teenager, right down to the lanky arms. 

4. Funny enough, Christa went on to play a teenage Jennifer again, this time in Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.
