He Pours This Mixture Over Salted Crackers For An Easy, Sweet And Salty Treat
I’m always looking for recipes for quick and easy delicious things that I can whip up at a moment’s notice and send as hostess gifts, bring to potlucks, or give as edible thank-yous. The best thing about this recipe is that it calls for things that I keep on hand regularly in my pantry, and you probably do too.
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like the whole sweet and salty combination, so this is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. It’s also a recipe that tastes like you worked really hard on it, so when you get rave reviews on how good these are, you can enjoy how little you worked for such high praise. Don’t worry, Diply’s got your back—we won’t spill your secret.
What you’ll need:
– salted crackers
– 1 cup salted butter
– 1 cup brown sugar
– chocolate chips
– chopped nuts (whatever kind or mixture you prefer)
The method:
Cover a pan with tinfoil. Place your crackers all the way across the pan. You might need to break them in half to fit properly (you want to fully cover the pan). In a sauce pan, melt the butter and add the sugar. Simmer for 3 mins. Pour this mixture over your crackers and bake in a 325 degree oven for 5-10 mins. While it’s hot, pour the chocolate chips on top. They will melt. It will be glorious. Spread this melty chocolaty goodness evenly all over the top. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Freeze for 15 mins. This will now be brittle and delicious and ready for you to take your rage out on it. Smash it. Break it. And now you have shards of sweet and salty deliciousness. Share. Or keep it all for yourself. We won’t tell.
