Wife Adopts Police Dog After Husband"s Death




It’s hard to think of something that is more difficult than losing a loved one. Saying goodbye is never easy, but the only thing worse is when you don’t get to say goodbye at all. When Mary Beth Eslary told her husband Lt. Eric Eslary that she loved him as he left home for another day of work, she never knew how important of a gesture it would end up being.











Because unfortunately for Mary Beth, that would be the last time she ever got to say that to her husband.













That morning while Lt. Eric was driving around with his K-9 partner Blek, his police SUV was struck by a drunk driver. Both man and dog were seriously injured. Though Blek was in a state of unbearable pain, he never left his partner’s side.




That is, until Mary Beth came onto the scene…
