I’ve never been a “late-night talk show” kinda guy. I’m more of a South Park and/or dank memes type. I mean, to each their own, and there are definitely late-night shows that I like, but I just find a lot of them to be so fake, ya know? Like, does Jimmy Fallon really think that every single one of his guests are actually that funny? Probably not, but I’ve never met the guy. More importantly, I never will meet that guy and what am I even doing bashing someone who’s obviously doing way better than I am? Wait, did I just have a revelation? Should I withhold judgements until I have all the facts? Fuck that, this is the internet! Flame on!

The song is about the failures of reconnecting with a loved one after painful years apart. If you can get through the song without having a crippling, tear-soaked breakdown, then you likely have no heart. You also might find that the lyrics are uncannily similar to a drunken text you might send your ex. Mary Caldera noticed this similarity and decided to test it out on her ex-boyfriend, Matt. Poor Matt clearly didn’t get the reference. Naturally, Matt assumed Mary was just drunk texting him, and his deadpan and confused response is brilliant. If you think Mary was cruel for texting Matt and getting his hopes up, well, she didn’t stop there. She also posted the entire exchange on Twitter, much to our delight!
