15 Reasons Jute Is The Perfect DIY Supply For The Fall

Whatever you may call it: jute, twine, or “that brown string stuff,” I’m sure you’ll agree that there is something warm and fall-like in its rustic charm. What’s great is that not only is it inexpensive and easy to find in most craft stores (even the dollar store sometimes!), but it’s also amazingly versatile! Depending on the thickness of the jute you choose, it can be thick and rope-like, or thin and pliable enough to crochet.

1. Wrap cabinet hardware for a rustic look.

Not only is this a cheap way to cover ugly old handles, but the jute will make it extra grippy.

2. Knot some flowers.

Spend an hour in front of the TV while making these cute flowers, and you’ll have a ready decoration for all sorts of other projects in your home. Attach them to vases, baskets, or anything else that may inspire you!

3. Make your own fruit bowls.

I have a fruit bowl that looks just like this one, and it cost like $20. Next time, I’ll make my own!

4. An easy monogram.

How nice does this big M look? Pretty great for cardboard wrapped in jute, huh?
