If you’re paying attention — and with a little bit of luck in your pocket and some being in the right place at the right time — you can find prehistoric fossils, arrowheads, and even civil war relics. 1. This soccer field.

It has a certain prestige to it, don’t you think? Like some deciding match should be played out here.

2. A 12th-century Byzantine church.

This impressive structure is found outside a small Greek village. It was built by just two people who belonged to the imperial court of Constantinople.

3. A 200-square-foot swastika.

Outside of Berlin, a group of 100 Larch trees formed this swastika that went undiscovered until 1992. Since the symbol is now illegal in Germany, some of the trees were removed.

4. A sign marking a hanged man’s grave.

Also known as a Gibbet post, this grave belongs to an English Highwayman named Jack Upperton who was hanged for robbing a mail delivery coach.
