What Angelina Jolie"s Brother Is Up To These Days

The world was a more innocent place back in 2000 when the smallest things would send people into a total meltdown. Well, that’s exactly what happened when Angelina Jolie won Best Supporting Actress for Girl, Interrupted and in her speech said she was “so in love” with her brother, James Haven. When she was later photographed with James in a post ceremony lip-lock, the media when nuts. On the other hand, photos can be deceiving and many families lip-kiss without being incestuous. Now, 17 years down the track, we thought it’d be cool to find out what Haven is up to. There have been reports of him directing a film and he’s also done quite a bit of acting. But since Brad and Angelina parted ways, he’s been spending more time with his sister. What’s that about?

Many people forget that before Angelina and James’s Oscar lip-lock in March 2000, there was their Golden Globes moment in January. Check out their smooch after she picked up a Best Supporting Actor Globe for Girl, Interrupted. It caused a ripple rather than a sensation. 

Then came the Oscars. When accepting her Academy Award for Best Supporting actor for Girl, Interrupted, Angelina declared, “I’m in shock, and I’m so in love with my brother right now. He just held me and said he loved me and I know he’s so happy for me.” Before her win, came the infamous kiss on the red carpet. 

Jolie was disappointed with the reaction to the kiss, which she believed was overblown. “First, we’re the best of friends,” she said. “And it wasn’t some odd open-mouthed kiss. It was disappointing that something so beautiful and pure could be turned into a circus.” 

James felt the reaction undermined a beautiful moment. “I did not give Angie a French kiss; it was something simple and lovely,” he said. “I congratulated her on the Oscar win and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. It was snapped and became a big thing round the world.” 

Angelina and James had a common enemy when they were kids.
