Man Dumps His Fianc For A Blonde Catfish

Love is a strange thing that makes people do even stranger things. I am often amazed by people who choose to stand by their significant other after they’ve been caught cheating—I just don’t understand! After two years together and a recent engagement, Rebecca Lewis, 30, discovered that her fiance, Paul Rusher, 26, was secretly messaging a woman he had met online, and her world came crashing down. The woman, named Kristen, had sent Paul a Facebook request just weeks after he’d proposed to Rebecca, and despite not knowing the woman, he accepted.

Rebecca and Paul met in 2010, while working in a supermarket together in Ross-on-Wye, England. After two happy years together, Paul proposed to Rebecca in July 2012, and the two began planning their wedding.

However, just months after their proposal, Rebecca noticed a change in Paul’s behavior—something didn’t seem right.

Paul began to act as though he had lost interest in Rebecca. He was always glued to his computer or phone, Rebecca felt like he barely looked at her.

Rebecca knew something was up, and in her gut she knew it was another girl, so she took to his Facebook account for answers. She logged into his account and discovered a string of messages between Paul and a mysterious woman named Kristen, who lived in California. The messages were quite flirty, and dated back to July—just weeks after Rebecca and Paul had gotten engaged.

Rebecca confronted Paul, and he promised to stop speaking with Kristen. He claimed the messages were nothing serious.

However, that was not the case. Paul had been messaging Kristen quite regularly, and was planning a future with this woman, although they had not met. The day after Rebecca confronted Paul, she went through his phone while he was in the bathroom and discovered that he was still messaging Kristen through WhatsApp, and had told her he loved her.

Rebecca confronted Paul again, and this time he admitted that he was in love with Kristen.

Paul said he was confused, and so Rebecca decided to pack her things and leave their home. Days later, she sent a Facebook message to Kristen, explaining the damage Kristen had done to her relationship. Kristen wrote in reply: ‘Paul’s in love with me now, Rebecca. Go away.’ Rebecca moved back in with her parents, but stayed in touch with Paul, hoping they could still be friends.
