Anyone old enough to read this will agree some people are impossible to date. Now, that’s not to say no one is dating them. Quite the opposite, actually. For some reason, some of us leap at the opportunity to torture ourselves by becoming involved with the neediest, most uncompromising people on the planet. And we only have ourselves to blame. I’d like to tell you it’s a bad habit and that it must be stopped, but that would make me a hypocrite because I’ve been in so many of these relationships, I’ve lost count. The only thing I can do at this point is laugh about it. I guess that’s sort of what this list is for.

Adele’s new song “Hello” is perfect listening for anyone who wants to unnecessarily relive the emotional trauma of having your heart shattered into a billion pieces. The song is about the failures of reconnecting with a loved one after painful years apart. If you can get through the song without having a crippling, tear-soaked breakdown, then you likely have no heart. You also might find that the lyrics are uncannily similar to a drunken text you might send your ex. Mary Caldera noticed this similarity and decided to test it out on her ex-boyfriend, Matt. Poor Matt clearly didn’t get the reference. Naturally, Matt assumed Mary was just drunk texting him, and his deadpan and confused response is brilliant. If you think Mary was cruel for texting Matt and getting his hopes up, well, she didn’t stop there. She also posted the entire exchange on Twitter, much to our delight!
