16 Things Every Kid Wanted For Christmas In The "90s




As someone who was born in the ’80s, I like to think I grew up during some of the best eras to be a kid. The movies, television shows, toys, and music of the ’80s, ’90s, and early 2000s are to this day some of the most memorable and beloved, and honestly, I don’t know if any future generation will ever get to experience that.


I have so many great memories from my childhood, and I believe they have everything to do with some of my current obsessions, like Halloween, Christmas, classic movies, and throwback playlists. And of all those things, Christmas is and always will be the most wonderful time of year for me. There’s just something about it that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, even when it’s 30 below and blizzarding outside.

And as a kid who wrote her fair share of letters to Santa, I can tell you that pretty much all of these things made the wish list cut at some point in time.

As a kid, I always wondered what was inside Stretch Armstrong that made him so stretchy. Now, as an adult with access to the worldwide web, I can find out the answer: latex rubber filled with corn syrup.

Adele’s new song “Hello” is perfect listening for anyone who wants to unnecessarily relive the emotional trauma of having your heart shattered into a billion pieces. The song is about the failures of reconnecting with a loved one after painful years apart. If you can get through the song without having a crippling, tear-soaked breakdown, then you likely have no heart. You also might find that the lyrics are uncannily similar to a drunken text you might send your ex. Mary Caldera noticed this similarity and decided to test it out on her ex-boyfriend, Matt. Poor Matt clearly didn’t get the reference. Naturally, Matt assumed Mary was just drunk texting him, and his deadpan and confused response is brilliant. If you think Mary was cruel for texting Matt and getting his hopes up, well, she didn’t stop there. She also posted the entire exchange on Twitter, much to our delight!
