I always think I want people to give it to me straight until someone does, then I resent them for it. 


I know I’m not the only one who does this. People are predominantly awful at dealing with hard truths. We say we want to know the truth, but when we’re finally faced with it, we find ourselves wishing we remained blissfully ignorant. 


I respect brash, outspoken people who tell it like it is, and I acknowledge that what they’re telling me is usually true, but some things are better left unsaid.

Adele’s new song “Hello” is perfect listening for anyone who wants to unnecessarily relive the emotional trauma of having your heart shattered into a billion pieces. The song is about the failures of reconnecting with a loved one after painful years apart. If you can get through the song without having a crippling, tear-soaked breakdown, then you likely have no heart. You also might find that the lyrics are uncannily similar to a drunken text you might send your ex. Mary Caldera noticed this similarity and decided to test it out on her ex-boyfriend, Matt. Poor Matt clearly didn’t get the reference. Naturally, Matt assumed Mary was just drunk texting him, and his deadpan and confused response is brilliant. If you think Mary was cruel for texting Matt and getting his hopes up, well, she didn’t stop there. She also posted the entire exchange on Twitter, much to our delight!
