Sometimes dating can be so traumatic that people literally give up their search and die alone. After reading Kelly Fine’s tweets about a dinner date gone wrong, my disdain towards courtship has grown tenfold. Let me clarify, this New York-based writer wasn’t actually on this date — she simply overheard the commotion while enjoying dinner at a local sushi bar. As a fellow writer, if a story this dramatic fell into my lap, you best believe I’d be sharing it with the world. The authenticity and spontaneous nature of her quick-witted live tweets make this story that much more entertaining.

Adele’s new song “Hello” is perfect listening for anyone who wants to unnecessarily relive the emotional trauma of having your heart shattered into a billion pieces. The song is about the failures of reconnecting with a loved one after painful years apart. If you can get through the song without having a crippling, tear-soaked breakdown, then you likely have no heart. You also might find that the lyrics are uncannily similar to a drunken text you might send your ex. Mary Caldera noticed this similarity and decided to test it out on her ex-boyfriend, Matt. Poor Matt clearly didn’t get the reference. Naturally, Matt assumed Mary was just drunk texting him, and his deadpan and confused response is brilliant. If you think Mary was cruel for texting Matt and getting his hopes up, well, she didn’t stop there. She also posted the entire exchange on Twitter, much to our delight!
