12 Crazy Uses For Coke Other Than Drinking It

There was a time in my life when nothing could compare to the first sip of an icy cold can of Coke. On a hot summer day, the crack of the can opening and the bit of mist that rose from the mouth signaled fizzy relief and sugary joy. You know a company has done something right when they’re able to provide such a simple pleasure. But my waistline is happy that I grew out of that phase.

Who knew Coke had so much more potential than just quenching thirst? I would never have guessed. Turns out, Coke has all kinds of weird applications beyond drinking it. If you bought the world a Coke, you’d be giving them a multi-tool in a can!

1. Clean Rust

The acid in Coke dissolves the oxidized metals and leaves the surface gleaming, if a bit sticky.

2. Clean Scorched Pans

Stubborn, burned-on crud is no match for Coke. Just soak the dish for half an hour to break down the ashes of your meal, and you’ll have an easier time cleaning your pots and pans.

3. Clean Coins

Just like with the rusty bumper, Coke’s acid content can take the tarnish off of old pennies and get them gleaming like they’re fresh from the mint again.

4. Clean the Toilet Bowl

Just like your frying pan, Coke will loosen up stains if you let it soak in your bowl and then give it a scrub.

And it has some surprising effects on hair…
