Politeness goes a long way towards making our civil society more, well, civil. Just because there are no rules against being a jerk doesn’t mean you have to be a jerk, right? And hey, everybody is guilty of overstepping at times. It’s how you make up for it after the fact that counts.


These criminals thought that, if nothing else, they would leave a note for the folks they wronged. It doesn’t make up for what they did. And it would be much better for everyone if they just hadn’t done a bad thing in the first place. Maybe karma will catch up with them in the end, who knows? But in the meantime, we’re going to enjoy their notes.

Poor Matt clearly didn’t get the reference. Naturally, Matt assumed Mary was just drunk texting him, and his deadpan and confused response is brilliant. If you think Mary was cruel for texting Matt and getting his hopes up, well, she didn’t stop there. She also posted the entire exchange on Twitter, much to our delight!
