These Are The Very Strict Rules For Becoming An Official Disney Princess

It would be almost impossible to come across a person who couldn’t name one single Disney Princess. Their brand has been widely known for decades now and so adored by many. There’s often a lot of confusion about who is a “certified” official Disney Princess, however. It turns out that there are specific rules Disney has put in place to determine who can be an official Disney Princess. It’s a tough process, and a lot of princesses in movies don’t make the cut. See what the super strict rules are now!

As of 2017, there are 11 official Disney Princesses. They are Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, and Merida.

Tinkerbell was once an official Disney Princess, but she was removed and renamed an official “Disney Fairy.”

There are many princesses and queens in Disney movies that have not made the cut as certified Disney Princesses.

Even Anna and Elsa from Frozen didn’t make the cut!
