Dogs Licking Your Face Is Actually Terrible For You

There’s no better feeling than coming home to your pet and having them run into your arms. I love coming home each day and getting snuggles. The one thing that’s off the menu? Face licking.

As much as it seems like a shower of affection, letting your dog lick your face can cause serious health problems.

Before you get too upset, hear me out. This is a health issue, not a social one. If you like to live on the edge, eating raw cookie dough and getting kisses from Mr. Floofy Booples, that’s fine! Just know what risks are involved beforehand, especially if you have young children.

Be sure to SHARE this with your fellow dog-lovers!

Letting your dog lick your face is a sign of how close you are.

It either means your dog is submitting to you in a show of affection, or they feel protective of you. What’s not to love about that?

But there are some serious concerns when it comes to your health.

Remember hearing how dogs’ mouths are cleaner than humans’? Yeah, it’s not true. At all.

Dogs eat garbage, poop, and they don’t brush their teeth like we do.

They carry tons of foreign bacteria that we don’t have, and they can give those to us when they lick our faces.

Dogs can transfer nasty infections to us.

There have been cases of dogs giving their owners tuberculosis, including a small boy from England in 2013.
