The Secrets Behind Eminem"s Iconic "Marshall Mathers LP"

You remember this album? Of course you do.

Eminem is one of the greatest rappers to ever live.

And you can’t talk about Slim Shady without talking about his third studio album.

That”s right.

The Marshall Mathers LP is one of the most revered rap albums of all time, but here are some things you didn’t know about it…

1. It sold 1.76 million copies in America in its first week.

It was the fastest-selling studio album by a solo artist in American music history up to that point.

2. After his first album BOMBED, he created a second EP based on his alter ego, Slim Shady, which caught the attention of Dr. Dre, who NEEDED to work with him.

Dre thought the rapper on the EP was black. He said: “In my entire career in the music industry, I have never found anything from a demo tape or a CD. When Jimmy played this, I said, ‘Find him. Now."”

Whoa…

Adele’s new song “Hello” is perfect listening for anyone who wants to unnecessarily relive the emotional trauma of having your heart shattered into a billion pieces. The song is about the failures of reconnecting with a loved one after painful years apart. If you can get through the song without having a crippling, tear-soaked breakdown, then you likely have no heart. You also might find that the lyrics are uncannily similar to a drunken text you might send your ex. Mary Caldera noticed this similarity and decided to test it out on her ex-boyfriend, Matt. Poor Matt clearly didn’t get the reference. Naturally, Matt assumed Mary was just drunk texting him, and his deadpan and confused response is brilliant. If you think Mary was cruel for texting Matt and getting his hopes up, well, she didn’t stop there. She also posted the entire exchange on Twitter, much to our delight!
