We all get a little desperate from time to time, which causes us to do some things we’re not proud of. Maybe we’re so desperate for food and so far from payday that we eat those items at the back of our fridge that we know we should have thrown out a week ago, or perhaps we’re so desperate for love (and also probably extremely drunk) that we bombard our ex with texts begging them to take us back. Regardless, it’s an unpleasant place to be, but I have a feeling the next 17 people will make you feel a lot better about any of your own acts of desperation!

Adele’s new song “Hello” is perfect listening for anyone who wants to unnecessarily relive the emotional trauma of having your heart shattered into a billion pieces. The song is about the failures of reconnecting with a loved one after painful years apart. If you can get through the song without having a crippling, tear-soaked breakdown, then you likely have no heart. You also might find that the lyrics are uncannily similar to a drunken text you might send your ex. Mary Caldera noticed this similarity and decided to test it out on her ex-boyfriend, Matt. Poor Matt clearly didn’t get the reference. Naturally, Matt assumed Mary was just drunk texting him, and his deadpan and confused response is brilliant.
