15 Fast Facts About 5 Seconds Of Summer




Close your eyes and think back to the summer of 2014. Crop tops and Alex from Target were all the rage, and “She Looks So Perfect” was dominating the charts. This was just the start for 5 Seconds of Summer (lovingly known from now on as 5SOS). These guys are very quickly dominating the boy band market, becoming one of the greats. There’s still a lot to know about this group with an incredible success story, but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. 











1. The band consists Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Ashton Irwin, and Michael Clifford. 


 Luke is known as the heartthrob of the group. Calum is the quiet and sweet one, Ashton is super chatty, and Michael is the crazy loud one of the group.




2. The boys all met at Norwest Christian College in Australia. They would all post covers of themselves singing on Luke’s YouTube channel.













3. Being a pop-rock band in Australia was pretty tricky as this type of music isn’t all that popular in Sydney. Things have changed since those days, obviously.  






4. Some of their greatest musical inspirations include Blink 182, All Time Low, and Ed Sheeran.

Adele’s new song “Hello” is perfect listening for anyone who wants to unnecessarily relive the emotional trauma of having your heart shattered into a billion pieces. The song is about the failures of reconnecting with a loved one after painful years apart. If you can get through the song without having a crippling, tear-soaked breakdown, then you likely have no heart. You also might find that the lyrics are uncannily similar to a drunken text you might send your ex. Mary Caldera noticed this similarity and decided to test it out on her ex-boyfriend, Matt. Poor Matt clearly didn’t get the reference. Naturally, Matt assumed Mary was just drunk texting him, and his deadpan and confused response is brilliant. If you think Mary was cruel for texting Matt and getting his hopes up, well, she didn’t stop there. She also posted the entire exchange on Twitter, much to our delight!
