"Growing Pains" Star Alan Thicke Dead At Age 69

The world lost yet another great talent last night when iconic TV actor Alan Thicke suffered a heart attack while playing hockey with his son. Thicke was just 69 years old at the time of his passing and leaves behind a lifetime of memorable TV moments. Thicke is survived by his wife Tanya and his three sons Robin, Brennan and Carter.

Alan was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario and spent much of his youth in the Great White North.

He attended the University of Western Ontario before beginning his television career hosting the Canadian game show First Impressions.

Throughout the rest of his career, he would go on to host two more popular game shows:

Animal Crack-Ups and the live-action version of Pictionary.

However, Thicke is most known for his time spent portraying one of history’s most iconic TV dads, Jason Seaver on Growing Pains.

The ABC sitcom became a fan favorite in the ’80s and ’90s and saw Thicke mentoring young actors like Kirk Cameron, Leonardo DiCaprio and Tracey Gold.

A kind man with many famous friends, Thicke’s passing has grasped the attention of other A-list actors.

In fact, fellow ’90s sitcom actor Bob Saget had this to say on his Twitter upon hearing the news:
