Anyone who still believes the internet is an unbridled source of honest and accurate information needs to wake up and smell the coffee. I’m skeptical of everything I read online, reputable source or not, until I find enough evidence to support what I’m reading. I know how hypocritical it is for me to say that given the fact that I am an aggregator of content and all, but it’s thanks to my experience in this line of work that I have such strong opinions about online content. I’ll be the first to tell you I’m full of shit, yet I’m published almost daily. So what does that tell you? I have no faith in the online community and neither should you.

The song is about the failures of reconnecting with a loved one after painful years apart. You also might find that the lyrics are uncannily similar to a drunken text you might send your ex. Mary Caldera noticed this similarity and decided to test it out on her ex-boyfriend, Matt. Poor Matt clearly didn’t get the reference. Naturally, Matt assumed Mary was just drunk texting him, and his deadpan and confused response is brilliant. If you think Mary was cruel for texting Matt and getting his hopes up, well, she didn’t stop there. She also posted the entire exchange on Twitter, much to our delight!
