Out of any spy show that has been made I think it would be safe to say Archer is the most entertaining. But he wouldn’t be the best without the best co-stars… Without Dr. Krieger’s sound “medical” knowledge, or Lana’s actual knowledge, Archer would be nothing. So to keep you up to speed, here are some behind the scenes facts about the animated comedy.











1. The show was conceived when creator Adam Reed was reading a bunch of James Bond books and then was ignored by a sexy lady on vacation.






He thought a spy would have been able to seal the deal. Which Archer does. All the time. 













2.The network originally wanted Archer’s voice to be a handsome guy who looked like the character.


But instead they got H. Jon Benjamin.




3. In a DVD extra, Archer dreams he was in a horrible accident and wakes up looking like his voice actor.


He can’t even get a pity bone from Pam.

Poor Matt clearly didn’t get the reference. Naturally, Matt assumed Mary was just drunk texting him, and his deadpan and confused response is brilliant. If you think Mary was cruel for texting Matt and getting his hopes up, well, she didn’t stop there. She also posted the entire exchange on Twitter, much to our delight!
