The Dramatic Evolution Of Rihanna




I have a vivid memory of turning on MTV before school and first seeing the music video for Rihanna’s “If It’s Lovin’ That You Want.” From that moment on, I was basically obsessed with her. Not only has her music greatly evolved since 2005, but so has her look. Rih-Rih has gone from a beachy, belly-top-wearing teen to an edgy, unapologetic woman. I love that she always keeps us guessing when it comes to her music and her style, and to date, I’ve never been disappointed. Keep scrolling to see the dramatic evolution of Rihanna!

Robyn Rihanna Fenty was born on February 20, 1988 in Saint Michael, Barbados.

Rihanna grew up in a small house in Bridgetown and sold clothing from a roadside stall with her father.

Rihanna grew up listening to mainly reggae music and began singing for fun around the age of seven.

Adele’s new song “Hello” is perfect listening for anyone who wants to unnecessarily relive the emotional trauma of having your heart shattered into a billion pieces. The song is about the failures of reconnecting with a loved one after painful years apart. If you can get through the song without having a crippling, tear-soaked breakdown, then you likely have no heart. You also might find that the lyrics are uncannily similar to a drunken text you might send your ex. Mary Caldera noticed this similarity and decided to test it out on her ex-boyfriend, Matt. Poor Matt clearly didn’t get the reference. Naturally, Matt assumed Mary was just drunk texting him, and his deadpan and confused response is brilliant. If you think Mary was cruel for texting Matt and getting his hopes up, well, she didn’t stop there. She also posted the entire exchange on Twitter, much to our delight!
