He sings, dances and plays one of the toughest characters on screen who’d slice you into a million pieces: Wolverine in X-Men.


Hugh Jackman is a talented dude because he… well, that’s what this whole article is about!


The point is that he’s one of the best actors of our generation and has been a staple of pop culture and he deserves his dues. We all know he plays Wolverine but that’s not all he’s done…











1. He wanted to be a news man.


He has a degree in communications with a focus on journalism that he got from the University of Technology in Sydney. But he took a drama theory class in his senior year and enrolled in an arts school.




2. He loved the Friday The 13th movies so much that he wanted to eventually play Jason, the machete-wielding, hockey-mask-wearing man with a heart of gold. 













3. Before he added “actor” to his resume he’d be pumping you gas as an attendant and… a party clown.


Yup.




4. He had a ROUGH childhood. His mom left him and his four siblings when he was eight and Hugh’s dad had to raise them all solo.


His mother returned to England. Understandably, Hugh broke down when he told CBS News’ 60 Minutes about it.

Poor Matt clearly didn’t get the reference. Naturally, Matt assumed Mary was just drunk texting him, and his deadpan and confused response is brilliant. If you think Mary was cruel for texting Matt and getting his hopes up, well, she didn’t stop there. She also posted the entire exchange on Twitter, much to our delight!
