Jack Nicholson Opens Up About Shelley Duvall"s Tragic Mental Health Issues

In 1980 a psychological thriller came to theaters that has since been celebrated as one of the best of its kind. Stanely Kubrick’s The Shining is one of those movies that, even if you haven’t seen it, you probably know many of it’s most famous scenes and lines because of how many times it has been referenced in popular culture. But regardless of your opinion on the film, the following story is really quite sad.

Remember Shelley Duvall?

The one time A-list actress was a familiar face in the ’70s and ’80s, appearing in films like Popeye and Annie Hall.

However, to this day she is most known for role as Wendy Torance in the Stanley Kubrick classic The Shining.

But soon after working on the film, Shelley started to veer away from Hollywood, and throughout the years, Duvall has gradually become more and more distant.

Nowadays Duvall lives her life in Blanco, Texas and is known by the few that see her as a recluse.

Over the years the state of her mental health has come into question, but she’s never addressed it.

That is until her recent appearance on Dr. Phil.
