Being different isn’t easy. If you don’t fit into society’s standards of what’s normal, people can be pretty ruthless. I’m not just talking about kids being bullies. In this day and age, people comment pretty mean things on social media. Khoudia Diop knows all too well about haters on the internet and in real life. People have teased Khoudia about her dark skin all her life. So mean. Thankfully, Khoudia doesn’t let those mean comments bring her down. She embraces her complexion, and she is very comfortable in the skin that she’s in.  She is truly an inspiration, and she shows people that we should embrace our differences. Love her!

The song is about the failures of reconnecting with a loved one after painful years apart. If you can get through the song without having a crippling, tear-soaked breakdown, then you likely have no heart. You also might find that the lyrics are uncannily similar to a drunken text you might send your ex. Mary Caldera noticed this similarity and decided to test it out on her ex-boyfriend, Matt. Poor Matt clearly didn’t get the reference. Naturally, Matt assumed Mary was just drunk texting him, and his deadpan and confused response is brilliant.
