Our creative brains have really guided humanity through some dark, tough times. The ingenuity that our skulls let out from time to time comes in handy when we’re faced with problems like how to get stuff from one place to another (wheels), how to make food tastier and safer to eat (fire), or how to impress a potential mate (rad dance moves and a killer pair of jeans). However, creativity sometimes leads us down strange paths – and that path doesn’t always go anywhere.

Usually, the whole point of making something is to solve a problem or make a task easier. These creations do nothing of the kind. In fact, for many of them, it’s tough to determine what they do at all. You almost have to marvel that they were ever built.

1. Good thing that wiper is there, or you wouldn’t know what color the van is when it’s clean.

2. Just think: somebody thought, yeah, this is a great, handy place for a drawer. 

3. The only benefit to this bike that I can imagine is that nobody would want to steal it.
