USE OTHER VERSION - 9 Sad Realities Of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition"

Have you ever wished you could be lucky enough to get on your favorite TV show? It’s something we do from the time we are young children watching TV after school. But now as adults these dreams are often directed towards reality shows that reward regular hard-working people with money and prizes. One reality show that many people often dreamed of being on was Ty Pennington’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The show would send less fortunate families away on vacation and completely renovate their home while they were away. But even though this show seems like it’s helping folks out, the sad reality is that it has caused families more harm than good on more than one occasion. Check it out.

1. The builders rarely finish the job in time.

The show often highlights all the improvements they’ve made to the home, but what they don’t tell you is that many portions of the house didn’t get touched at all due to time constraints.

2. The families are left with a ton of expenses.

Many families can’t actually afford to maintain their new homes, and many end up losing their property completely!

3. The show doesn’t help the families with their expenses.

If you think the producers want to help the families once their homes are built, you’re wrong. Even though many of these families are left with insanely high mortgages on their home, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is nowhere to be seen once the show ends.
