15 Surprising Reasons Why Actors Were Written Off Shows




It might sound weird but I’m not ashamed to admit that TV is my life. It’s my whole life and I wouldn’t have it any other way. One time, I made a physical schedule of all the TV shows I watch and… well, let’s just say I filled up the paper very quickly. As an avid TV watcher, nothing bums me out more than when a character leaves the show. Especially when it happens to a character on a Shonda Rhimes show and you know that they won’t just end up moving to a different city. 


It might seem like characters are written off because they don’t serve a purpose anymore but that’s not always the case! Sometimes, actors leave the show because of a whole bunch of reasons. Here are a few really surprising reasons why some actors disappeared off of your favorite TV shows.











1. Nobody really knows why Shannen Doherty left Charmed. There were rumors that she left because of drama behind the scenes but she has since cleared that up in a tweet: “Ok gang there’s no drama. Lets not feed into it!!”


When Shannen left the show, she was replaced by Rose McGowan.




2. Lost was the biggest show on the earth! It would be crazy to ask to be written off! That’s exactly what Dominic Monaghan did to free up some of his time to pursue other projects. 













3. On the fourth season of House M.D., there was a storyline where House started off with 30 trainee doctors and then he would fire a few people every day on the show! That actually happened in real life too!


The writers would wait until the very last minute to decide which characters would leave and so the actors had no idea if they would be around for next week’s episode!




4. Supposedly, Punky Brewster was cancelled because Soleil Moon Frye was growing up and developing very quickly and the producers felt that there was just no way they could make her character still look age appropriate. 


I feel really bad if that’s the real reason why the show was cancelled! Soleil couldn’t help the way her body looks!
