Overall, I think what we can learn from online culture is that no one — and I mean absolutely no one — can be trusted. Social media is basically a platform for the best and worst people to prey upon the weakest people in civilized society. Generally, social media isn’t the best place to look for an accurate depiction of someone’s life. I mean the reason people love social media is because they can control how they portray themselves, so you are bound to see only the good things. 


Most people aren’t good liars and the ones who are masters of deceit usually mess up, leaving a breadcrumb trail to the truth. The people you are about to see are pretty bad at lying, but extremely talented at seeking (negative) attention.

Adele’s new song “Hello” is perfect listening for anyone who wants to unnecessarily relive the emotional trauma of having your heart shattered into a billion pieces. The song is about the failures of reconnecting with a loved one after painful years apart. If you can get through the song without having a crippling, tear-soaked breakdown, then you likely have no heart. You also might find that the lyrics are uncannily similar to a drunken text you might send your ex. Mary Caldera noticed this similarity and decided to test it out on her ex-boyfriend, Matt. Poor Matt clearly didn’t get the reference. Naturally, Matt assumed Mary was just drunk texting him, and his deadpan and confused response is brilliant. If you think Mary was cruel for texting Matt and getting his hopes up, well, she didn’t stop there. She also posted the entire exchange on Twitter, much to our delight!
