The Real Reason David Spade Refused To Go To Chris Farley"s Funeral

Losing a friend is never easy, but it’s something that all of us will eventually have to go through if we haven’t already. The sad truth is that we all pass away, and that we can never predict when it will happen. This is why I am a firm believer in making the most out of the time we do have together. When I get a chance to do something with a close friend, I try to embrace it fully. Because let’s face it, eventually the only thing we will have left is the memories.

When Chris Farley passed away in 1997, the entire world wept.

Celebrities, family members and longtime friends came forward to share their stories about the legendary comedic actor in an attempt to celebrate his life.

Many of Farley’s fellow cast members from Saturday Night Live showed up for his funeral.

Everyone from Chris Rock to Adam Sandler to producer Lorne Michaels shared heartwarming stories about the large, lovable man.

But one important member of the cast, and perhaps Chris’ very best friend, wasn’t in attendance.

And over the years, many people have speculated as to why he didn’t show up.

But now, nearly twenty years later, that friend is finally speaking up about Farley’s death and the pain it brought him personally.

It all went down when David Spade agreed to do an “Ask Me Anything” session on reddit.
